Push-pull is a flirting mechanic that alternates a pull (warmth, interest, a real compliment, moving closer) with a push (a tease, a challenge, a brief takeaway, looking away). The claimed job is to keep tension alive instead of collapsing into one-mode approval. On this wiki the lead is the Girls Chase / Skilled Seducer reading: teasing plus leading, not a script of insults.[1]

The older pickup artist name for the same loop is BHRR and the takeaway: attention that never leaves has no price.[2][3]

This encyclopedia describes the term. It is not a license to be cruel. A push that targets looks, status, or a real insecurity is negging, which this wiki treats as a historical Mystery-era tool with a high failure rate, not as house method.

Method

Chase Amante's school does not run "push-pull lines." It runs the ingredients:

  1. Pull is genuine. A specific compliment, a laugh, a statement of interest, moving the conversation somewhere private. Fake warmth reads as sales.
  2. Push is light and then you move on. A tease about what she just said, a false time constraint, actually having somewhere to be. You do not explain the joke.
  3. Lead. The mechanic only works if you are going somewhere: a venue change, a number, an instant date, home logistics. Tension without logistics is banter that dies at last call.
  4. Stop. One or two exchanges. Looping the bit turns you into a clown (over-gaming).

The Newbie assignment trains the prerequisite: eye contact, posture, talking to strangers. Push-pull on top of freeze and neediness is just negging with worse branding.

Other schools

Mystery-era. Bait, hook, reel, release is push-pull as a club loop: she invests, you reward, you pull back, she invests more. The takeaway and "cat string" metaphors are the same claim in different jargon.[2][3]

RSD / "natural." Hot-and-cold framed as vibe and congruence rather than a named move. Same failure mode: beginners hear "push" and become mean.

London daygame. Street stops have almost no time for a theatrical push. The functional equivalent is leaving after a solid open (real time constraint) and texting a Day 2.

Failure mode

  • All pull. Compliments, questions, availability. Reads as nice and as already won. The chase is over before it starts.
  • All push. Insults, freeze-outs, "neg hits." This is negging. Most women leave.
  • Commenting on the move. "Just kidding" after a tease wrecks the frame.
  • Using it as a substitute for qualification. Push-pull creates tension. It does not get her to invest in you as a person. That is a different job.

This wiki's view

Warmth plus standards is ordinary adult flirting. The useful half of push-pull is teasing and not being a slot machine. The useless half is treating a woman like a yo-yo. Calibration decides which half you are in.
