Pedestal is treating her as already above you: you audition, you do not screen, you cannot tease. The community word is older than pickup literature; Later pickup hits the same object as one-itis plus missing qualification. If you cannot name a deal-breaker, she is on a pedestal.[1][1]
In practice: attraction plus standards. Pedestal is attraction without standards. Disqualification and teasing are tools; walking away is the real one.
