Dread game
Field Relationships

Origin Manosphere / married-game writing

Dread game is the practice of keeping a partner slightly uncertain about her hold on you — via options, fitness, social life, or withdrawal — so that complacency does not kill attraction. It is a named technique in married-game and "get her back" writing, and Wingman has a quiz on it (quizDreadGame.json).

This wiki records the claim and the failure mode. The claim: attraction in long relationships tracks relative value and residual uncertainty. The failure mode: manufactured jealousy as cruelty, which is not "frame," it is a red flag with a theory.
