A takeaway is leaving, or looking like leaving, after the set has hooked, so your presence is not a free utility. Short version is a roll-off. The claimed mechanism is push-pull / "cat string": attention that never leaves has no price.
Used badly it is drama. Used well it is logistics (you actually have somewhere to be) plus outcome independence.
