An anime convention is a dense, costumed, multi-day gathering. The Wingman blog treats the large "party cons" as a carnival: strangers talk, peacocking is the dress code, and logistics decide whether anything completes. This wiki's gold standard is still Girls Chase / Skilled Seducer: you still have to approach, calibration still beats a script, a no is a no. The con only changes the venue.

House mapping
The blog's working claims, in Girls Chase language:
| Blog move | House term |
|---|---|
| If you cannot get laid in ordinary life, the con will not save you | Attractiveness fundamentals + Newbie assignment first; venue is not a cheat code |
| Pick a party con (multi-day, official dance, 18+/21+, large) | Venue selection. Same job as Newbie-assignment day 1 |
| Wear real cosplay, fit, recognizable, effort | Fashion fundamental / peacocking. The costume is the commentable object so the room can open you |
| Come with a crew that is actually fun | Social proof; wing |
| Hotel in or on the con | Logistics / isolation. Distance kills the bounce. Locals still benefit from a room because her logistics are at the con, not at your apartment across town |
| Itinerary: panels, lines, meetups, not wandering | Have a plan. Outcome independence is not aimlessness |
| Talk to men and women; bring value; give people outs | Do not make one girl the whole night. Abundance mentality. Clingy is the con's default DLV |
| Slow approach in lines/tables vs three-second open | Warm venue vs cold approach. Both are approaches. Spam-complimenting cosplay and walking is spam approaching |
| Fun first, laid second | Outcome independence. Chase: the guy who needs this particular girl wrecks the set |
Slow approach vs just talking
The blog splits daytime con flirting into:
- Slow approach — enter a legitimate shared space (line, table, meetup), settle, talk about the situation, ask about the costume without an interrogation, give an out, invite to the crew, then escalate only if she stays. This is house-party / festival game, not Mystery club openers.
- Three-second open — see her, walk up, talk. Same as direct game with a cosplay hook. Complimenting the costume is the bare minimum; the conversation has to become specific.
Either path ends in Instagram or joining a crew, often both. IOIs listed in the essay (preening the wig, laugh, lean-in, eyes, asking to hang) are the usual list. The blog's extra warning: nerdy shyness can look like an IOD. Back off, give an out, see if she stays. Relieved when you leave = you were overbearing. Still there = continue.
What the encyclopedia does not copy
- Operational alcohol-smuggling. Venue rules vary; "bring value" is the usable claim.
- Treating a partnered woman as default fair game. Ask once, clearly; if it is not an open arrangement, stop.
- Tinder-at-the-con as the plan. The essay itself says apps are a supermajority of men and a crutch.
Failure modes
- No cosplay, no crew, no hotel, wandering the floor looking hungry.
- Making her the center of the weekend on contact (one-itis in a wig).
- Not taking no. Distinguishing yourself from the con's incompetent suitors is the game.
- Using the con as a substitute for ordinary skill. The first line of the essay is the house line.
