NLP entered pickup through Ross Jeffries and Speed Seduction: patterned language meant to change state. Bandler and Grinder's original NLP is a 1970s therapy/sales toolkit; ASF used it as a seduction technology. Later mystery-method and fundamentals schools mostly dropped the scripts and kept "speak to her state, not her argument."
This wiki describes the pickup use. It does not certify NLP as clinical science.
