Spam approaching is running opens as a numbers game with no conversation: generic compliment, no specifics, ask for the number, next girl. Skilled Seducer staff (and Chase) treat it as a bad direct approach. Direct is stating intent after you have actually met her. Spam is a slot machine.
The Newbie assignment prevents this by forcing tiny complete reps (hi, then a day, then a compliment with a name and a handshake) instead of a spray of digits.
