Social proof is looking more attractive because other people already approve of you: a crew that is laughing, a girl already with you, a room that wants your picture. Mystery filed the female version under DHV as preselection. Chase lists social reputation and momentum under social attractiveness fundamentals. [1]
A worked picture: a crew that is actually having a night, versus a man wandering a convention floor alone. People open the group that already looks chosen.
