Hired guns are staff whose job includes being pleasant: bartenders, waitresses, promoters, dancers. Mystery-era students burned nights treating a work-smile as an IOI. The term is filed as it under calibration: she is at work.[1]

In practice

In practice: be a good customer. If something real is there, it will survive the shift. Do not run a full set on someone who cannot leave the bar.

This page is not a how-to for hitting on staff. It is a warning label.
