Results vs reactions is Chase's 2011 distinction: newbies treat a laugh, a long chat, or a maybe-number as progress. Those are reactions. A result is a Day 2, a bounce that lands, sex, a girlfriend — whatever you named.[1][2]

Method

  1. After an outing, list results, not vibes. Did you get a time and place?
  2. A number without a when is number farming.
  3. Keep the reactions as calibration data. Do not cash them as wins.

Failure mode

A night of 'great conversations' and an empty calendar. That is the trap the essay names.
