A number close is leaving with a phone number (or social handle) and a reason to meet, not a trophy digit. The Newbie assignment day 14 installs the ask: "I'd like to grab food or a drink — would you like to do that?" then take the number if yes. A number with no date pitch is a beginner souvenir. [1]
