Auto-rejection is rejecting yourself (or her) in advance so the feared rejection never has to arrive from outside. You don't open; you decide she would have said no. You flake first. You friend-zone yourself.
It is the inner-game twin of approach anxiety and a common engine under one-itis (better to keep the fantasy than risk the no). The Newbie assignment's "hi" days exist to make auto-rejection expensive: you are not allowed home until the reps are done.
