A pivot is a woman you bring to a venue so that other women read preselection — you already have female company — and so you have a social reason to be in the room. ASF treated pivots as a tool, including "women who won't sleep with you but still go out." Later daygame uses the word less; social-circle preselection is the same mechanism without the prop.
