A merge is two sets becoming one conversation — friends arriving, another group joining. Mystery trained opening through the merge. Later pickup literature treats it as social pressure: the audience just got bigger.[1]
In practice
In practice: greet the new people, do not ignore them, then get back to a two-person beat if you can. Performing for the new crowd is tryhard.
