Albert Ellis (1913–2007) was an American psychologist, founder of rational emotive behavior therapy. With Roger Conway he published The Art of Erotic Seduction (1967), which Wikipedia treats as a starting point for modern pickup how-to — meeting women through the "pickup" rather than through chaperoned courtship.[1]
He is in-scope here as that ancestor, not as a PUA. The REBT career belongs on a psychology encyclopedia.
