Play to win is Chase's 2011 line: if you want her, take chances that can actually produce her — a number with a time, a bounce, a kiss — not chances designed to keep you unembarrassed.[1][2]

Method

  1. Name the result you would accept tonight (talk, instant date, Day 2).
  2. Make a move that can produce it. Hovering is playing not-to-lose.
  3. Collect the noes. That is the cost of playing.

Failure mode

Doing a lot of almost: almost opening, almost leading, almost asking. Activity without a win condition.
