A cold approach is opening someone you have no social tie to — no friend-of-a-friend, no app match, no workplace. Daygame is cold approach in daylight on the street, in shops, on transit. Nightgame is cold approach in bars and clubs. The Newbie assignment is a cold-approach on-ramp that starts with "hi."
Why it is the prestige skill
The seduction community treats cold approach as proof you can generate romance from a blank street. Social-circle and app game can produce more sex per hour for many men; they do not produce the same "I can do this in a foreign city" claim. PUA Lingo called cold approach the form that makes a man "free in the world."
Cost
Approach anxiety is the tax. Most dropout happens before the first "hi," not after the tenth rejection. Training programs (Mystery bootcamps, the assignment, daygame in-fields) are almost entirely anxiety-exposure machines with technique bolted on.
