Origin How to Make Girls Chase; restated on Skilled Seducer 27 May 2025

Attractiveness fundamentals are, in Chase Amante's teaching — this wiki's gold standard — the passive but adjustable qualities that make a man more attractive by being around him, as opposed to game, which is the active work of opening, teasing, leading, and escalating. See Seduction Wiki:Point of view.

Amante introduced the idea in How to Make Girls Chase (2011). On 27 May 2025 he posted a disambiguation thread on Skilled Seducer, "The 4 Categories of Attractiveness Fundamentals," because students had started using "fundamentals" for everything (opening fundamentals, nightgame fundamentals, and so on).

The four categories

As listed by Amante in that thread:

Body

Posture, mannerisms, movement (speed and fluidity), walk, eye contact, smile, facial expressions, teeth, physique.

Vocal

Tone, inflection, depth, resonance, "purr," formants, hyoid depression, affected boredom, colorful vocabulary, vocal uniqueness, a hint of accent.

Social

Sprezzatura / the Law of least effort, smooth conversation, humor, social awareness, "normality" (no off-putting quirks), social momentum, reputation inside a circle.

Fashion

Fit, interesting items and accessories, color coordination, interesting vs loud outfits, peacocking, hair, facial hair, congruence with an identity or archetype.

What is not a fundamental

Amante carves out three piles:

  • Unchangeable passives — height, bone structure, a required uniform, a rank in a hierarchy. Those affect attraction; they are not "fundamentals" in his sense because you cannot train them the same way.
  • Game — approaching, opening, teasing, cold reads, leading, compliance, rapport, frames, escalation, resistance-handling.
  • Vibe — treated as an output of fundamentals + game + inner frame, not a fourth training category.

Fundamentals vs game

Amante's long-standing line: the stronger the fundamentals, the less game you need, and the reverse. The easiest path is both. Forum replies to the 2025 thread proposed rival taxonomies (health vs status; "ugly hot" as high status / weak health). Those are recorded as competing frames, not as replacements.

The Newbie assignment is the on-ramp that starts training body fundamentals (posture, eye contact, walk) before asking the student to run full game.
