== How to spot it (vs. real chemistry) ==
Real chemistry runs hot too. The difference shows up the second you introduce friction.
* A girl who's actually into you respects "let's take it slow." A love bomber treats it like rejection.
* Real chemistry survives a busy week. Love bombing needs constant fuel, and the intensity drops the second you stop feeding it.
* A real connection is consistent. Love bombing is overwhelming, then gone, then overwhelming again.
* Compare what she says to what she does. Love bombers narrate a whole future and then can't show up on time for the present.
If you can't read it, the cleanest test is the exclusivity talk. Bring it up a little early, on purpose, and watch. A love bomber agrees instantly and uses the yes to escalate. A normal person says "let's see where this goes." Mystery and patience beat over-explaining, on both sides.
=== How to handle a love bomber ===
# '''Slow it down on purpose.''' If she's pushing daily contact, exclusivity, or 'I love you' inside two weeks, push back. Calm and clear: 'I'm really into you. I also want this to be real, so I'm not rushing it.' Then watch her face.
# '''Judge the reaction, not the apology.''' A normal person respects a slowdown. A love bomber escalates, sulks, or accuses you of not being into her. You don't have to interpret it. The reaction is the diagnosis.
# '''Ask a friend who isn't high on it.''' You can't see straight when you're being love bombed. Describe it to someone who knows you and watch their face do the thing. Their gut is your gut, minus the dopamine.
# '''If it loops, leave fast.''' Love bomb, cold shoulder, love bomb again is a cycle, not a rough patch. The longer you stay the harder leaving gets. Walk now and save yourself six months.

== The honest part ==
Real intimacy gets built slow, in small boring acts of showing up again and again. Anyone selling you the express lane to forever is selling you something, and it isn't love. The high is supposed to take time, and a girl who's worth it is the cherry on top of a life you already built, not the whole sundae. Slow it down, and let the ones who can't handle slow filter themselves out.

Love Bombing
Field Dating / seduction

Love Bombing is a term in dating and pickup. Love bombing is when someone buries you in attention, affection, gifts, and grand declarations way too early, on purpose, to speed up intimacy and switch off your judgment before you've had time to use it. [1] Typical uses include:

  • She tells you she's never felt like this with anyone. It's date three.
  • Good morning beautiful, every day, before you've met in person. Then she's planning a weekend trip on date two.
  • One week in she's calling you her boyfriend, you're on her vision board, and she's mad you took six hours to reply.

What it means

Love bombing is when someone hits you with a flood of affection, attention, gifts, and forever-talk way faster than the timeline earns it. It feels incredible. That's not a bug. That's the entire point.

The phrase started in cult-recruitment writing back in the 1970s, where groups would drown new recruits in love and acceptance to break down their defenses. Same move, romance edition. It's mainstream dating slang now, and fair warning, it's been watered down to mean "she likes me a lot." Don't water it down. Love bombing has a specific shape, and the shape is the tell.

Intensity is not intimacy. The first is cheap. The second you have to earn.

What it looks like in dating

The signature is mismatch. Affection that's wildly out of proportion to how long you've actually known each other:

  • "I've never felt this way about anyone," on date two or three.
  • Pet names, "good morning beautiful," and "miss you" before you've spent ten hours in the same room.
  • Marriage, kids, moving in, meeting the parents, all on the table inside a few weeks.
  • Lavish gifts before she could possibly know what you actually like.
  • She reorganizes her whole life around you instantly, then expects you to do the same.
  • Every ex was "crazy" and you're the first person who "really gets her."

One of these alone is nothing. Three or four stacked inside a month is a pattern, and patterns don't lie.

Why your brain falls for it: Nonstop, high-voltage attention spikes your dopamine in a way that feels exactly like falling in love. Your nervous system can't tell 'she really sees me' from 'she's running a script.' That's the whole trick. It skips your judgment and plugs straight into the part of your brain that just wants to feel wanted.

Why people do it

Two flavors, and the difference matters.

The one running a play. Some people use love bombing on purpose. The goal is to get you hooked before you've had time to actually evaluate them. By the time their real personality shows up, you're already attached, already defensive, already telling yourself it was so perfect at the start. That's the trap closing.

The one who's just scared. Not every love bomber is a predator. Some people are terrified of being alone, fall for the idea of a person before they know the person, and try to nail it down fast out of pure anxiety. Same behavior, different intent. Doesn't make it any better to be on the receiving end.

Here's the good news: you don't have to figure out which one she is. You can't, not in week one. And you don't need to, because the move is the same either way. Slow it down and see what survives.

Warning: Love bombing hits hardest on the guy who's been starved of attention. If a girl is treating you like a king in week one and you've been on a dry spell, your radar is the first thing she'll talk you out of. Hunger makes you stupid. Eat first.

The hangover

Here's the part nobody warns you about. Even when you correctly clock a love bomber and get out, you're going to miss the high. Hyper-focused attention is a drug and you've been mainlining it. The first month after you leave feels gray.

That's not your gut telling you that you blew it. That's withdrawal. Wait it out and it passes.

The crash that follows: The bomb almost always comes with a sequel: the silent treatment, the picked fight, the manufactured drama. The high was the bait. The low is the hook. Ride out the love bomb and watch the pattern flip, and you're not in a relationship, you're in a cycle.
